Jerusalem Jackson Greer has blessed my heart through her book: A Homemade Year!
You all know how much I love all things "liturgical year"... and I must say - this might be
the prettiest and most down-to-earth book concerning celebrating the church calendar that I have
ever picked up! I just keep flipping through the pages and daydreaming about the next feast day!
The faith has always been meant to be celebrated within the walls of a Church AND beyond.
Those who follow Christ and cherish His ways in their hearts carry the holy honor of living and breathing
with "the Church" wherever they go... and especially into their homes - the domestic church.
In this book, she covers so many special seasons and days of fasting and feasting
in the treasury of the church: Advent, Lent, Christmas, Easter, Epiphany, St. Joseph's Day,
Corpus Christi, All Saints' and All Souls' Day... just to name a few!

"May this book be a jumping-off point from which you discover new and creative ways
to experience the rhythm of God's story in your home, not just for one season, but for
every season, creating joy and lasting memories in the most ordinary days." - Greer

Jerusalem is one, talented, busy momma who not only wants to bring the church calendar to life for her
own family, but for any other families who are willing to take the leap!

This book is so pleasing to the eyes! Beautiful photos. Entertaining and engaging narratives.
Family-friendly crafts and recipes that will bring all your loved ones running to the table to celebrate!
As I read through the chapters, I seriously felt like Jerusalem was sitting in my living room having a
conversation with me - encouraging me, brainstorming with me, and urging me to continue in this way
of life that I am already so passionate about! I LOVED THAT. I can't wait to use some of her ideas!
AND DON'T WORRY!
This book is seriously perfect for wherever you are at in your faith journey.
If you are totally lost and have no idea what I am talking about - this book will be your guide!
If you are already the Martha Stewart of the liturgical year I know that you will not be
disappointed with these fresh ideas!

Blogging is so much more than an online journal of daily activities. It is not just a pretty URL with
perfectly arranged HTML. But it is an avenue, a portal into the very hearts of humanity.
Beautiful, blank, white space begging to be filled with dreams, ideas, reflections, stories...
It is about community.
It is about reaching out to people you may never have the chance to meet in person.
It is about building relationships and sharing your testimony...
learning lessons from each other that impact life.
They say it takes a village to raise a child...
I think it takes a village to do great things in general.
We need each other.
Blogging has been such a blessed adventure for me.
One that I was reluctant to take. Fearing I would fail, I put the idea off for years.
But on March 22nd, 2012 I found me some beautiful, blank, white space...
and began.
THANK YOU readers, friends, and family... I wish I could come give each and every
one of you a hug. Praying the words and pictures found in the day-to-day posts can at least
hug your heart. You are loved.

I feel beautiful when I am FREE to be me.
No expectations, no false pretenses... just me for who I am.
I feel beautiful when I am REAL.
I think that sometimes as women we put up guards or put on masks to shield ourselves
from the eyes of the world. Some of us are broken and wounded. Others are pressured and
manipulated by the ideas and images that society is throwing at us day after day.
We run, we dodge, we hide... afraid to be noticed, really noticed, for the beauty we possess.
But the truth is, the woman who lies under the covers at night - wiped clean of make-up,
free of uptight hair, wearing what makes her comfortable... is the true woman.
The woman in her infant-like state before her Maker - wrapped in the beauty He gave her...
the beauty He intends for her to give to the world. A shameless gift.
I want to be that woman always.
Free. Real. The way God made me.
Last week I met up with my friend, Cathy, who is currently working with Mary Kay.
She asked me if I would be willing to do a BEFORE and AFTER (make-up) shot for her portfolio.
YES! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to be REAL with you and let you see me for me.

I have been taking the month of March to think of ways to #EncourageBeauty
as Anna from In Honor of Design and Hilary from Dean Street Society have inspired me to do so!
I encourage you, fellow sisters, to acknowledge and uplift the women in your life.
We all have our issues, our struggles. We all have a side we would rather not show.
But what better way to encourage beauty than to be FREE and REAL with EACH OTHER?
Cathy from Mary Kay is giving away a Satin Hands gift set to one of my readers this week!!!
Have you tried this stuff?! AMAZING. They make it for your lips too! I have both sets!
My husband said, "Women, love the word 'exfoliate.'"
Made me laugh! There's truth to that statement!
This package deal comes with hand softener, hand scrub, and hand moisturizer
to help exfoliate and restore your hands to their natural, beautiful state!!!

I want to #EncourageBeauty by blessing one of my lovely readers with some skin pampering goodness!!!
We all know that good beauty products make us FEEL pretty!

She is a sweetheart - loaded with tons of beauty tips and a
passion for helping women be them beautiful selves!!!
You guys are going to love this!
So there's this girl named Erin. She and I have run in the same
circles for years... and now I get to show YOU how radically talented she is!
Ladies and gentleman, I give you the lovely creator of The Recycled Library
and a GIVEAWAY - a chance to win one of her handmade creations!!!

Erin is an artist, wife, expectant momma, dreamer, and admirer of all things book related.
She believes there is beauty to be found in the small and often overlooked bits of life that surround us.
"A 25 cent map at a thrift store can resurrect a cherished memory, and a well loved book at a yard sale,
with notes scribbled all over the margins, can be a special peek into another life."

First of all - I LOVE MAIL.
So you can only imagine how excited
I was to receive a package from The Recycled Library!!!
Second of all - I am a DIE HARD lover of all things PAPER.
Paper is for writing - gifting - sharing - holding precious memories -
concealing secret wishes, hopes, dreams...
paper is for planning - scheming - designing - revealing -
blessing future generations with our life's sacred history.

Pictures do not do her work justice.
I wish you could come flip open my charming journal
and witness the delicate, detailed handiwork for yourselves!
The envelopes and note cards are super chic! The prettiest I have ever seen.
I want to keep them for forever! Seriously considering framing a few.
If you see them on my wall, please don't act surprised!

I love how she put a special note in the front of my journal! MADE. MY. DAY.
I cannot wait to fill the pages!

...Erin says...
"The Recycled Library is a way for me to share the simple beauty I find with others.
I want to create things that help people pause a moment and appreciate the world around them.
If everyone knew how many beautiful things can be found right outside (or even inside) their doors
I believe this world would be a happier and brighter place… So I encourage you to pick up a book,
send a handwritten note to a friend, or sit down with a cup of tea and record a memorable moment on paper
that your kids can one day enjoy. I’ll be doing the same!"
NOW ENTER FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A PRODUCT OF YOUR CHOICE FROM
THE RECYCLED LIBRARY!!!
Giveaway is limited to US residents ONLY (18 years and older).
The winner will be able to pick ONE handmade creation of their choice
from Erin's shop as the prize
