for something other than the usual banana-strawberry-kale combo.
That's when a new smoothie was born. Right in my kitchen.
We named it "Peachy-Cado" and then swiftly devoured the entire
thing like the herbivores we are.
Blend.
1 peach
4 strawberries
1/2 avocado
1/2 C. spinach
1/2 C. raw orange juice
1/2 C. rice milk
1/2 C. crushed ice
Pinkies up.
And try not to devour a Reese's peanut butter cup as a reward after
drinking this smoothie like I may or may not have done.
I'm no doctor, but I'm seeing this as a WAY yummier version of a multi-vitamin.

avocado in a smoothie, huh? will need to remember that. i love smoothies, so filling and yummy!
ReplyDeletei seriously thought the same thing, Leah! - but - believe it or not - it takes on the flavor of what it's blended with and adds lots of healthy fats to the mix!!! i usually reach for a banana - but thought "WE LOVE CADOS!" so we went with it!!!!
DeleteJust come live at my house and make all these healthy things for me;) sounds yummy!!
ReplyDeletedone! would love to do that!!!
DeleteI LOVE the thick almost mousse-like texture an avocado gives smoothies! The healthy fats in the avocado seem to make the smoothies even more filling as well.
ReplyDeleteYES! That's exactly what the avocado does for a smoothie, Christy! Well put. Mousse-like. And totally agree - super filling. This was actually the main course of our lunch one day.
DeleteYou inspired us, and we totally have been drinking something similar this week :) froz strawberries, banana, spinach, water, avocado. Finally figured it out with no milk substitute! :)
